Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALERIE DIANE SETTER July 19, 1963 - July 22, 2014 Valerie peacefully passed away with her family by her side at the Health Sciences Centre. Valerie will be sadly missed and remembered by her husband Rick; children Kylie (Troy) and Brenden; mother Sylvia and her three brothers Donnie (Debbie), Eddie (Maureen) and Gary (Charlene). She was predeceased by her father William in 2011. Valerie grew up in East Selkirk and attended Happy Thought and Lord Selkirk High School, graduating in 1981. Shortly after graduating she started working at the Manitoba Lotteries. Ten years later she moved on to working at Extra Foods for the rest of her life. In 2000 we found out Valerie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, but that didn't stop her from doing the things she loved like going to her children's activities, going to her MS support groups once a month and going to the casino of course. A big thank you to Terry Hnatiuk (her best friend) for being with Valerie throughout her illnesses and to all the doctors and nurses at the MICU/CCU in the Health Sciences Centre. Also Doctor Eggertson, Doctor Marry and Doctor Speers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the MS Society of Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Valerie, we had so many good times when we were young. I remember playing hide and go seek at her home in East Selkirk. She was a great person and a great cousin, even though we didn't see each other much. I remember my dad had given her the nickname of Fuzzy, it still stays with me today. My deepest condolences to all the members of your family. Hold on to the precious memories. God Bless - Posted by: Debbie Solta (Cousin) on: Jul 27, 2014

To Rick and family my thoughts are with you in the loss of Val. I know there is nothing I can say to ease you right now but maybe knowing people are thinking of you will in some small way help. - Posted by: Maria Turkitch (acquaintance) on: Jul 25, 2014
