Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNOREEN MARIE MONTENKO (nee CHARBONNEAU) It is with sadness that the family of Noreen Montenko announce her sudden passing on July 19, 2014 at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Alan (Jane) Mintenko; daughter Sheryl (Terry) Blatz; grandchildren Christopher Mintenko, Jennifer (Jordan) Mintenko-Chaisson, Michael (Erika) Blatz and Mark Blatz; great-grandchildren Ellery, Jack, Josie and River; and sister Ann Charbonneau. She was predeceased by her husband Gerry, parents Gordon and Margaret, and brother Bobby. Noreen was born in Blenheim on November 8, 1931 and spent her early years in Chatham, Ontario, joining the military in 1950 where she met her husband Gerry. After two years of service she retired to raise a family. While they had many postings across Canada, France and England, they also travelled extensively during Gerry's military career, including most of Europe and the Middle East. After retirement, they wintered together in Corpus Christi where she took up golf to participate in Gerry's interests. She collected Lladros figurines. Before she got sick she enjoyed travelling with her sister Ann to Florida to visit cousins. A private family service was held with interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
