Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIMITRIOS ALEXIOU It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dimitrios Alexiou on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Dimitrios passed in his residence at the age of sixty-two years. He will be lovingly remembered and survived by his wife Marilyn, his daughter Georgina and his son Thanasi (Tom). He will also be sadly missed by his niece Nancy (Soula) and his brother George. Dimitrios was affectionately remembered as "Jimmy the Greek" and used his masterful culinary skills to offer the art of Greek dining to everyone he knew and loved. His father, Athanasios, and mother Anna, were always extremely proud of his business ventures. Whether it was in the quaint island of Paros, Greece, or an unfamiliar setting in Canada, Jimmy always displayed an incredible work ethic, a passion and zeal for life, and a desire to shower those around him with kindness and care. Prayers will take place on Wednesday, July 30, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Avenue. The funeral will take place on Thursday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY 204-783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com

Jimmy was a wise, loving man and passed this wisdom onto his family and friends. He remains a legend in Paros, Greece, with his reputation shining through his lifelong friends from his life as an entrepreneur in Parikia. A true mastora. - Posted by: Cole (Family Friend) on: Jul 30, 2014
