ANNIE BAMFORTH March 23, 1916 - July 29, 2014 With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Annie Bamforth on July 29, 2014 at the age of 98. Leaving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Norma (Rick) Cordy; her two sons Murray (Maria) Bamforth and John (Sandra) Bamforth; grandchildren Kevin (Carolina), Janice (Andreas), Bradley (Shawna), Brent, Allison, Kelsey, and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Brandyn, Sophia and Leah. She was predeceased by her husband Mel, and three siblings, Alice, Jack, and Mary. Annie grew up in Somerset, Manitoba where she fondly remembered her friends and often reminisced about her baseball and curling teams' successes. Based in Somerset, she worked for the municipality of Lorne for sixteen years. In 1954, Annie, her husband Mel, and her young family moved to Winnipeg where she would live in the same house until she reached the age of 96. Upon her husband's sudden passing in 1965, Annie went back to school, obtained a nursing designation and returned to the workforce at the CNIB, where she worked until she retired in 1981. Throughout the years, Annie enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden and flowers, playing cards, bowling, traveling and outings with her family. She attended Grey Street United church and later joined and actively participated in the church's seniors' program. The family would like to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa personal care home where she was so well cared for over the past two years. Special thanks go to Nanette for her dedicated care and companionship. In keeping with Annie's wishes, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annie's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
