Our Auntie Rose is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Anne Ostop, nephew Robert Ostop, nieces Mary Osborn, Carol (John) Haigh, and Jean Katchinoski, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Pauline in 1920 and Wasyl in 1924, sisters Wanda in 1926 and Marie in 1990, and brother Henry in 2005. Orphaned very young, Rose lived as a child with family friends. She graduated from the Manitoba School of Nursing in 1936 and dedicated her life to the medical profession as a nurse and later a medical records librarian, until her retirement in 1975. During the early 1950's she spent three years in the Ninette Sanitarium recovering from tuberculosis. After retirement, Rose enjoyed travelling to Alaska, B.C. and the Maritimes. The family extends our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff and residents of River East Personal Care Home and the Arlington Haus Supportive Housing Unit. Your excellent care and kind compassion made Auntie Rose`s last years very comfortable and peaceful.
