She is survived by her two brothers, Rosaire and Roger (Jeanne), her sister Henriette, her sister-in-law Yvonne and numerous nieces and nephews. Orise was born on April 15, 1924 in Ste. Agathe, MB. As a young woman she worked many years at The Bay in Winnipeg. She then ventured off to British Columbia to be with family and friends in Vancouver and Osoyoos. After 35 years, she returned to Manitoba to enjoy her retirement. She cherished the family get togethers and all the holiday reunions. Her strong wit, her keen sense of humour, her passion for cooking and her love of cards will always be remembered by all. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Ste. Agathe Parish in Manitoba with private interment to follow in the Ste. Agathe Parish Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the amazing staff of l'Unité Marguerite for the loving and compassionate care provided for Jeanne. We are also very grateful for the support provided to family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Actionmarguerite (Saint-Vital), 450 River Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5M4. We have so many fond memories with auntie. So many fun times, always laughter and happiness. Alot of awesome dinners & card games that wont be forgotten. We used to stop by her apartment in Vancouver after elementary school & ask for a snack before our long bus ride home,(there were 4 of us) she never turned us away. It didn't matter how many people we had with us,we were always welcomed with a warm smile & generous hospitality. Everyone was family to auntie. Osoyoos was our summer destination for many years. Long lazy days by the lake, auntie always with a hamper of food!! She never stopped. We are so thankful for our wonderful times her, she is always in our hearts. We love you! - Posted by: Diane Weisenberger (niece) on: Aug 09, 2014

My heartfelt condolences to Rita & family at the loss of Jean who was a remarkable lady. I have known Jean for several years through coming to play whist on Wed. evenings at 303 Goulet. Always had a great time & although I did not go to visit her at her new residence I would often ask the ladies at cards how she was doing. I also did her income tax return for a couple of years so we were able to have chats about living in St Agathe as I lived there in the 50's. May she rest in peace in Heaven & we will see her once again. God bless you all. - Posted by: Margaret Martin (Falk) (Friend) on: Aug 07, 2014
