JOSEPH LAPKA 1937 2014 It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of our father/gedo on August 3, 2014 at the age of 77 years. Joe was predeceased by his first wife Patricia (Skrabek), parents Michael and Victoria Lapka, sisters Olga, Marusia and Helen and brothers Benny and Max. Left to cherish his memory are his three children Joseph (Laurie), Robert (Bonnie) and Susanne (Darren) Cooper, six grandchildren: Heather, Matthew, Katie, Riley, Max and Devon, wife Carol Lavallee, three stepchildren Colette Lavallee, Philip Lavallee and Sandra (Matt) Ambrose as well as sisters Susie, Lovey, Doreen and brother Michael. Joe was born in Poplarfield, MB. He retired from a 36 year career with Manitoba Hydro in 1993. Dad enjoyed fishing, farming, card playing, casino trips as well as spending time with family and friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Poplarfield Community Hall with interment to follow at the Poplarfield Cemetery. My condolences to you Susanne, Joe, and Bob and families. We lost our Dad almost exactly two years ago. Cherish the memories.
