HELEN LOUISE SYMCHYCH (nee UHRYNIUK) Helen Symchych of Edina, age 87, died suddenly of natural causes on July 29, 2014. The daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Eugenia and Dmytro, Helen was born in April 1927 in Vita, MB. Helen grew up in Winnipeg, and graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In May 1950, Helen married Boris Symchych. They had a family of five children, residing in Dauphin, MB; in 1962 the family moved to Minneapolis. Helen is survived by her husband, Boris, her children Janice (Peter Flint), Holly (Tom Lund), John (Helene Mann), Margo Herman, and Mark, as well as her grandchildren Alison Flint (Adam St. Pierre and great-grandson Finley), Becca Flint, Andrea Lund, and Nicole and Daniel Herman, as well as nieces and their children. We have all lost a woman who taught us grace and love, and know that she is irreplaceable. The family extends its gratitude to Dr. Ann Lowry who took care of Helen in her final days. Private family memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's memory to Interact Centre for the Visual and Performing Arts or donor's choice.
