Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFELIX (PHILLIP) BASARABA February 11, 1936 - August 4, 2014 Peacefully in his sleep at Health Science Centre he left us and went to join his Dad John, Mom Sophie, brothers Mike (Bernice), Joe (Mary), Pete, Walter, Louis and Stanley, his beloved sister Tillie (Joe), niece Gladys Figur, nephew Brian Yaciuk. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Enid, sons Barry, Kevin (Cindy) three grandchildren Jordan, Alycin and Kyle, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws Olga, Ann, and Pearl. Phil was the youngest son born to Sophie and John on February 11, 1936 in Sylvan, MB. Went to school in Sylvan and worked hard on the farm but as a young man realized that he would need more security and went to Winnipeg where he was hired by CP Rail Passenger train which later became Via Rail for 39 years retiring in 1995. His employment took him across Canada and North to Churchill, on his journey's making many good friends and meeting wonderful people from far and abroad. His love of the land always took him home to the farm where he loved to work, hunt and socialize with family, friends and neighbors. Good friends Bob and Bev Thompson will be the urn bearers. Many thanks to Dr. Koulack and his entire staff at Health Sciences Centre A3 Ward for their kind constant and gentle care over the past year. No flowers please, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba, Heart & Stroke or a charity of your choice. Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111
