CLIFFORD ALVIN SABEL May 7, 1924 - August 8, 2014 With peace and dignity, surrounded by love and caring of family and friends, Cliff passed away at Red River Place on August 8, 2014. Clifford was a long time resident of Selkirk, had lived independently till his stroke in June of 2013. Cliff is survived by his loving children Gerald of Selkirk, Martin of Winnipeg, Dawn of Wanless, MB, Fred of Selkirk and granddaughter Destiny of Selkirk. Also numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his daughter Judy of Medicine Hat, AB. He enjoyed playing his violin in various bands, and volunteering for square dance groups and events. Playing cards and socializing, were high lights but doing the puzzles daily in the Winnipeg Free Press is what kept his mind sharp and gave him a purpose. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I remember we did a dance at Fisher River(sunnyValley) No Cliff? At about 11:00 pm that night, big snow storm on, the door of the hall opened up, and in came Cliff with Violin under his arm, he walked right up to me on stage and said, you son of a gun, you told me Fisher Branch, not Fisher River, then he broke into his famous grin and said that's ok, after I apologized, and we had a good laugh and Cliff gave the crowd Big John Mcniel Jig and the dance floor was packed. He was the Best. Orville - Posted by: Orville Stefanson (One of the best guys and friend to have in a band, you never had to worry about Cliff making it to a) on: Aug 11, 2014
