DENNIS SYNKIW 1942 - 2014 It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Dennis Synkiw on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 72. Dennis was predeceased by his parents Anton and Margaret, mother of his children Dianne, and his beloved son Darren. Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his sister Olga (Eddie), brothers Earl (Theresa) and Ivan (Marcie), nieces, nephews, daughter Debbie (Andy), daughter-in-law Kathy and grandchildren Georgia, Shelby, Dylan, and Lauryn. "We love you papa." Dennis took much pride in what he did. He was a very hard worker, whether it be at his job, in his garden or in his yard. He was very mechanically inclined and had a passion for classic cars. His biggest passion and ultimate joy was spending quality time with his grandchildren. Remember him with a smile today, He was not one for tears. Reflect instead of memories of all the wonderful years. As per Dennis's wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that you pay it forward with a random act of kindness. "I love you dad, I'm going to miss you." Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 338-7111

Dennis and I never met but my grandfather Wasyl Sanchuk sponsored his father Anton Synkiw to Canada in 1927 (Mink Creek District, RM Ethelbert, MB). I do not know their precise relationship but Anton called Wasyl "uncle" in the ship records. Wasyl's mother was a Synkiw. Wasyl's only sister married a Bihun (Biegun) so Anton was not Wasyl's nephew in the usual sense. My condolences to Dennis' family. I went to school with his brother Earl and have met his brother Ivan and sister-in-law Marcie. God bless you all. "Vichnaya Pam'yat. Everlasting Memory." - Posted by: Nadia Trafananko (Relative) on: Aug 16, 2014
