DOROTHY NELDA CAMPBELL (APPLEYARD) March 8, 1929 - August 18, 2014. It is with sadness the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Dorothy Campbell of Stonewall, MB on August 18, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Willard in 1985. She is survived by four children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: daughters Dale Kokorsch, Linda (Wayne) McKinnon, sons Mark (Pattie) and Brian (Heather); grandchildren Diane (Trevor) Keefe and their children Marielle and Carson, Kelly and Chris Tataryn, Karyn (Nook) Stolniuk and their children Avery, Emily, Hudson and Logan, and Lauren (Jeff) Lohneis. She was also predeceased by her sisters Elsie, Alice and Violet, and brothers Elmer. Harvey, Leslie and Bruce. She is survived by her sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was raised on the family farm in Harperville and would find work in the Stonewall area. She married Willard in July of 1949 and raised a family while living in Teulon, Brandon and Winnipeg. They returned to Stonewall in 1979 where she remained until her passing. She was tragically widowed in 1985 but her many friends made sure she was always a part of everything the community had to offer. She was a proud and active member of Stonewall Legion Branch 52 and gave herself tirelessly to the work of the Ladies Auxillary. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Community of Stonewall, and in particular, her wide circle of friends and fellow Legion members who were always sure to include Mom in their plans and assist her in any way they could. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Mackenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall at 11:00 a.m. The family also wishes to thank the staff of HB3 of the Health Sciences Centre and the Stonewall Hospital for the care given to our mother over the last month. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Stonewall Legion would be gratefully accepted. Mackenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
