Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNADIA FURDYK July 14, 1942 - August 23, 2014 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear sister, aunt, and friend, Nadia Furdyk on August 23, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre, MICU. Nadia was born July 14, 1942 near Fork River, MB. As a teenager she left the family home to find work in Winnipeg. She quickly found employment at Old Dutch Foods, from where she retired after 47 years of dedicated service. After her retirement she lovingly cared for her ailing mother until Ann's passing in 2011. Nadia made friends everywhere she went. Many of these friendships lasted a lifetime. She loved to dance and socialize. Family was very important to her and she loved her nieces and nephews as her own. Her kindness and generosity will be missed by all who knew her. Her heart of gold will be missed by her brother Michael (Ariel); nephew Brent (Mary Lou), Sierra and Dylan; niece Nancy (John) Speidel, Kyle, Keegan and Connor; nephews Bradley (Faye) and Ronin; nieces Rhonda (Jon) Loeppky, Emma, Katelyn and Madison. She will also be missed by her niece and goddaughter Monica Weseloski-Schlamp (Brent). Also mourning her passing are many cousins across the country. She was predeceased by her mother Ann, father Mike, sister Mary and brother-in-law Steve. The family would like to thank the staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with interment to follow. Even though a year has almost passed since Nadia has gone,I would like to say how very much she is missed in our neighborhood. She spoiled us with her Avon deliveries, her kindness and a larger than life personality. Nadia was always a warm and giving individual to both myself and my family,especially my mother. I pass by her house each day and think of her. It is amazing the effect one person has on another,and the lasting memories it creates in our hearts. Love to you always Nadia! So sorry to hear that Nadia has passed away. I met Nadia at Old Dutch Foods many years ago and have been friends ever since. We used to go to dances together and even recently we would meet up with her at our dance outings. Nadia was a kind and generous person. May she rest in peace in God's hands . I met Nadia when for a few years I delivered her Avon parcels to her, she was a lovely women that whenever I was there to deliver her Avon we always talked for quite a while, she always had a Christmas gift for me and Halloween treats for my kids, I always thought about her over the years and was saddened to see her obituary in the paper...Her family are in my thoughts, just know she is with her mother for which I know she truly missed... - Posted by: Mariana Holinka ((Avon)) on: Aug 30, 2014

My condolences to the family. I will always remember Nadia as a warm and loving person despite her trials she endured no matter the cost. The book of life will list her name her record clearly engraved. As a friend of God though she passed away will never be forsaken.
