ELIZABETH ISABELLA HALL June 1, 1923 - August 22, 2014 It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of "Betty" at the age of 91. She will be lovingly missed by her niece, Deborah Hargrove; nephew, Thomas Hall; great-nieces Jennifer, Sarah, Megan, Tiffany and Katie; great-nephew Andrew; great-great-nephews Seth, Caelen and Reilly, and great-great-nieces Kara and Chloe. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Hall; sister, June; brother, John, Deborah's husband, Herb, as well as her life long friend, Gerry Faris. Betty had a lifetime career as the head librarian at the Winnipeg Tribune. Betty was an enthusiastic participant in both curling and golf and she enjoyed her winters down south and summers at Clear Lake with friends. Special thanks to Bob for his friendship with our aunt the past few years. Cremation has taken place and Betty will join the rest of her family in their Elmwood family plot in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In remembrance of her life, the family would like to invite you to a time of fellowship where memories will be shared and her life remembered. This will take place at Sturgeon Creek II, 707 Setter Street, Winnipeg, on Tuesday, August 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the theatre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her name. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I will miss our early morning conversations and the rides to the doctor in St. Vital. She was a wonderful woman - Posted by: Peter (Friend) on: Aug 28, 2014

  • To Miss Hall's family, I will really miss her. I served for four years at Sturgeon Creek II and always looked forward to seeing her. May all your memories keep her in your heart. When I make date squares she will always be in my heart! - Posted by: Bev Morisseau (friend) on: Aug 27, 2014

  • To Betty's family, my sincere sympathy. I was a great friend of Betty's. Our cottage is across the street at Clear Lake. We shared many golf games and cocktails together. Betty was my caddie during the Tamarack for several years. I always scared the heck out of her on the 17th hole. Spoke with her in June as she was always interested in knowing how Garth Collings had done in the Grey Owl. I will miss our phone calls. She was a great lady.
