• Leona was a Lady and a class act! She loved her school "kids & Family" and was always trying to get the best for them. Every year she would say she was retiring, so we would get the retirement numbers and plans ready and every year she would say "I have to go back for my kids!". So when she finally asked me to come help her with her pension papers I could not believe she actually did it. She was enjoying retirement until the cancer hit. I had the privilege of seeing her a few weeks ago and she was showing the same spirit as always but very tired. • We offer sincere condolences to Leona's family. She was such a dedicated teacher and loyal friend. She had such a love of learning, education was Leona! Leona was educator for all of our children and also for our grandchildren. We are so blessed, all of us, to have had her in our lives. I regret today we are on the east coast touring . • Leona was an inspiration to me in the way she lived her life - a true educator who dedicated her life to her students and her community. Her love of History called forth the best in her students and they always enjoyed the field trips she organized for them. I offer my deepest condolences to her family and all those who journeyed with her during her last days on earth. Leona has now transitioned into eternal life where she is experiencing the fullness of LIFE and all of its GLORY. I feel very blessed to have known her - my life has been enriched in all dimensions because of her.
