ESPERANZA FERNANDEZ VILLEDO STREGGER Esperanza Villedo Stregger, 72, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on August 26, 2014, peacefully in her sleep. She was born to the late Benigno and Francisca Villedo on December 18, 1942. She was united in marriage to Garth Stregger on July 4, 2004, after they had been together for 19 blissful years. Garth preceded her in death on September 18, 2011. Esperanza and Garth are now joined with their loving granddaughter, Crysrosan "CS" Sy and with our Creator in heaven. Esperanza was known to her friends and colleagues as "Espie", received her Hairdressing diploma from Pollock School of Beauty Culture and attended hairstyling seminars in New York, Los Angeles and other fashion cities to further her profession and spent most of her career exploring new hairstyles and trends. Espie was also recognized as an avant-garde of hair extensions in Winnipeg and an outstanding member of Manitoba Hairstylist's Association since 1987. After enjoying her career for 25 years, she finally parked her license at age 65. Furthermore, she served on the board of West End Biz and was a dynamic member of the community. Family and friends were Espie's delight. She had touched so many lives and was known for her generosity. She loved to host and entertain and frequently had garden parties in her home on Matheson Avenue and for several years she would visit her daughter Jocelyn and grandchildren in the Philippines. Espie is survived by her daughters, Rosanna and Marinella, sons, Emmanuel and Allan, of Winnipeg. She also leaves behind sisters, Rosita and Felipa, and numerous loving relatives, grandchildren, and friends. Our mother Espie and family would like to express deepest gratitude to the Misericordia Interm Care and Riverview Health Centre staffs that cared for our mother on her final days and most of all to the W.R.H.A. Palliative Care Team who performed an excellent job delivering great compassion and outstanding respect to our mother. On behalf of our family, we would like to thank each and every one for their tremendous support during this difficult time. Thank you and may God Bless You All. Lamay will be held on Thursday, August 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 30 at 2:30 p.m. also at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery 204-338-7111

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I knew Espie for many years she was my hairdresser. When I was 15 I lost my hair due to some bad chemical processing from another hair dresser, Espie had some mercy on me and gave me hair extensions, and a job to pay them off to maintain my dignity so I would not have to walk around hairless as a teenager. Espie was a unique soul. Her kindness and generosity were outstanding. I had not seen her in the last few years of her life as I moved away from Winnipeg. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. Love u mama Espie may your soul rest in God's hands and you continue to do God's work in heaven as you did on earth. I offer my condolences to Espie's family and friends. _Rachel - Posted by: Rachel (Client/employee/friend) on: Jul 21, 2019
