JOSEPH AUGUST ADEMAR BARRON Joseph August Ademar Barron (Ed) passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Selkirk General Hospital, at the age of 89 years. Born in St. Ambroise, Manitoba, October 20, 1924. Predeceased by his parents Beatrice Carolyn (nee Lafreniere) and Louis Charles Barron. Dad was one of seven siblings Albertine (Frank), Josephine (Ted), Elie (Myrtle), Gilbert, Oliver, and Antoine. Dad and Mom (Annie nee: Valka) were married August 30, 1947. They had two children Deborah and Ken. Dad and Mom shared just short of 62 years of their lives together when Mom passed away in June of 2009. Once when he visited her at the cemetery he said" I don't always remember but I don't ever want to forget." He is survived by his daughter Deborah (Ross) their children and grandchildren Natascha (Vincent) and their children Sascha, Tavery, Anya Isabella; Porscha (Kris) and their children Jasmine, Raven, and Grayson; Auguste (Joel); and his son Ken and his sons Adam, Brady and Cassidy. After Mom passed away, Dad moved to Kin Place in Oakbank. His life was very busy and full with family and many new friends. He attended many a soccer game and school concert of his great-grandchildren. Never missed the many family gatherings and dinners and when out and about in the community was recognized and greeted by many. Time at Kin Place was full of concerts, bingo, bowling, outings and so many other activities that he squeezed in between naps. He was known for his helpfulness and kindness, his nicknames for many, he loved to laugh, was a real joker and known for his many sayings like "you got it Park Pontiac" and "Chevrolet coupe down number one highway". People who knew him said he was the kindest person they knew and he had much to teach them. He loved music, to fish and bowl and most of all he loved and was loved by his family. Our family would also like to thank all of those who were kind and helpful to him over his lifetime. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue, with interment and reception to follow. Flowers graciously declined. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Dear Uncle Eddie....We love you and will miss you. We always enjoyed when you came to visit us when we were kids, you always made us feel important. I know Dad (Gilbert)enjoyed your visits and phone calls,it was a chance for him to speak French. Uncle, you reminded us so much of our dad, you two looked so much alike and shared the same sense of humor. It meant so much to us that you were for us kids when our Dad passed away. We are terribly sad but at the same time we know you are in heaven with Auntie Anne our Dad, Aunt Bertie, your parents & siblings. Now you can all sit together and speak French! We will always have good memories of you, Thank you Uncle Eddie...Love your nieces and nephews (Gilbert Barron's kids)... - Posted by: Dianne Barron (Niece) on: Aug 30, 2014
