Date of Passing: Aug 20, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ELLISON July 26, 1930 - August 20, 2014 Peacefully, after a hard fought battle with cancer, Bob passed away with his family by his side. Bob will be forever missed by his wife of 63 years, June, his children Ken (Jan), Vicki (Bob), Brian (Kim) and Roberta (Rick). Also missing their Papa are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Papa is now reunited with his boy, grandson Andrew, who he missed terribly the last six years. In keeping with Bob's wishes, there will be no formal service. However, we invite all family and friends to join us for a celebration of his life in his backyard on Saturday, September 6 at 3:00 p.m. A special thank you to Stonewall Palliative Care, Stonewall Home Care, Dr. Graham and the nursing team at Stonewall Hospital and especially to Roberta and Rick and his "little girl", home care nurse Diana, for the great care and compassion you showed to Bob. If friends so desire, donations can be made in Bob's honour to Stonewall Palliative Care Program. As Bob said, "Just tell everyone, Gone Fishin". MACKENZIE FUNERAL HOME STONEWALL (204)467-2525

Uncle Bob left this earth a very blessed man. His health so deteriorated but his legacy of family, love, laughter devotion was so evident as we came to say goodbye. His wife, children grandchildren and family and friends camped out around the clock. These three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Condolences to Uncle Bobs clan....... Till you see him again. - Posted by: Laurel Penner (Niece ) on: Sep 02, 2014

Uncle got so much joy over making kids happy. Thanks to Uncle I now camp with my whole family.I wish I could be as insperational as he is. Uncle Bob's backyard is a living shrine. How appropriate, such an opportunity to gather here in remembrance. Like one candle sharing its flame with another, we gather to share our love & respect. And our chili. A simple message of condolence cannot properly express our sympathies to Aunty June and family, for this huge loss. Each generation of our family learns to appreciate the family unity, in these times. May the love of family help with your sorrow. We commemorate a strong spirit, gone fishin - Posted by: Bill Debiuk (Nephew) on: Sep 02, 2014

My papa, there's no words to express how much I love you!! You were THE best papa a kid could ever ask for. You gave me so many memories growing up fishing, camping and our competition to see who will see the first robin every spring. As promised, I will make sure to teach my kids the love of animals, wild life, fishing and to see the beauty in this world like you did. I'm so thankful that we had time to say I love you, time to say good bye but it doesn't make moving on in life without you. I miss you my papa - Posted by: Dusti (Grand daughter ) on: Sep 01, 2014

Missing you greatly, and I always will. You were a wonderful father-in-law, and I'm so sad that you had to leave us so soon. I'm glad I got to say goodbye, and tell you these things in person. I love you, and will remember you always and forever. You were the best..thank you for always helping us, and taking care of our needs. Your generosity was always appreciated. - Posted by: Kim Ellison (daughter in law) on: Aug 30, 2014
