LOUISE MARIE MAGID (nee LUCKO) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Magid, on August 28, 2014, at the age of 85. Her long battle with Parkinson's may have taken a toll on her physically but it never dampened her indomitable spirit. Left to mourn her passing are sister Veronica Toker, brother Louis Lucko, niece Kelly (Mike) Maida, great-nieces Taylor and Julia Maida. Louise was predeceased by siblings Jennie, Frankie, infants Edie and Mary, along with parents Mary and Frank Lucko. Travel was a passion for Louise with Florida having a special place in her heart. She was an incredible cook, avid gardener and devoted animal lover. Throughout her battle with Parkinson's Louise never complained, and took what life brought to her head on. Solace comes in knowing that she is no longer in pain. It is with deep gratitude that we thank the many Home Care workers and staff of Beacon Hill Lodge and Meadowood Manor for their loving care. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba.
