Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our condolences to the family. We were neighbours to Earl and Irene for many years on Mandeville Street......such a lovely couple. Our two girls loved to visit with them, and their home was a refuge for our cat (Ike). Whenever he needed a break from the girls, he'd head next door and chase golf balls that Earl putted for him in the living room, or just settle in for a nap. We truly missed them when we moved. We are unable to attend the memorial today, but our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. - Posted by: Judy and Jan Rikkelman (Former neighbours) on: Sep 12, 2014

  • We send our regrets for not being able to attend Earl's Memorial this Friday. It is with saddness & fond memories of not only Earl, but Irene & those simpler, happy times when we were kids growing up. The family visits to see our Aunts,Uncles,Grandparents & cousins were always eagerly looked forward to by us " Fasts from way out East in Transcona" ! Although never frequent enough, the favourite visits were the special ones with my Dad when he asked me to come with him to go & visit his big brother Earl " way out West in St. James ".When Earl & Dad got together there was always lots of laughs & I admired the connection they had as brothers. I'll always remember that !The two of them also shared some similiar facial features & whenever i saw my Uncle Earl, he brought back memories of my Dad. I liked that. Both Kathy & I truly miss all those great moments & we've learned to hold those things dear in our hearts with all our family members. This is something our family members of days past have left us. Earl will be remebered by us as a genuine good human being with strong family values & high morales in many areas of life. Both his & my Dad's infectious smiles will be recalled & we too will smile. Our thoughts & prayers to all the family members, Kathy & Braden Fast Elbow, Sask. - Posted by: Braden & Kathy Fast (Nephew to Earl ) on: Sep 10, 2014
