Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY E. HINCHEY After a battle with cancer, Audrey Eleanor Hinchey passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli. Audrey was born July 28, 1936 in Winnipeg to Joe and Elsie Schultz. She was married to Jack Hinchey on August 7, 1954 and for 60 blissful years their love endured. Audrey lived a charmed life in many ways. Married only weeks after turning 18 she began her family just a year later. By the age of 20, she was living in a brand new house on Greene Avenue, which would soon be home to three more children. Blessed with a wonderful self-deprecating sense of humour, Audrey always made friends easily and kept them throughout her life. Whether it was her oldest friends, her neighbours from East Kildonan, or her friends from Arnes, Audrey was beloved and will surely be missed. Audrey always prided herself in keeping her house clean and she was one of the few people in the world whose greatest pleasure was paying her bills. A stay-at-home mom for many years, Audrey provided her children with the much appreciated experience of coming home from school for lunch and being greeted with a smile, tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. She continued being there for lunch even after she returned to work as the secretary for the River East Continuing Education Programa job she thoroughly enjoyed until her retirement in 1990 when she and Jack sold their house on Greene Avenue and moved permanently to their cabin in Silver Harbour. Dependable, and always generous with her affection, Audrey is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack, her four children, Eileen Tissot (Gerry), Janet Shaw (Don), Laura Wills (Roy) and Jordan Hinchey (Jennifer), her brother Clifford Schultz (Mary-Ellen) as well as nine grand children, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. A memorial service celebrating Audrey's life will be held in Winnipeg on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com

I am saddened to hear of the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she truly leaves a legacy, of which she was proud and a family that will continue to tell stories of her life with fond memories. Growing up on Greene Avenue, I remember most the backyard, with its white fence (although not a picket fence, it was still white) and the chats across the fence. I remember my Mom and Audrey, having coffee and chatting about life - that was always over my head, at our kitchen table - and the coffee - Audrey loved her coffee - I think I can still see the cup! She had a great sense of humour and I knew she was always there, if needed I could always ask her for help and she was forever accommodating. Recently I had a chance to chat with Jack & Audrey and was updated with the life of her family - and she spoke with that special look in her eyes that only a mother could have. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Jack and the family. Audrey was such a charming friendly person whom my late wife Dorothy and I had the pleasure of meeting more than 15 years ago at their cabin on Spinaker Lane in Silver Harbour when we were neighbors next door.
