EILEEN MARION KITCHING (nee SMEARS) July 19, 1921 - August 26, 2014 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen at Extendicare Red River Place, Selkirk, MB. She is survived by her family: Lynne Kitching (Rick Thomas) and daughter Terri (Darryl) Armstrong, grandchildren Kyle, Jeremy (Cheri), and Josh, great-grandchildren Bentley, Brooklyn; Bill (Judy) Kitching and sons Neil and Adam; Janet (Larry) Houndle and sons Derek and Brent; and Kathryn (Brian) Jack and children Megan, Colin and Blaine. She is also survived by her in-laws: Ted (Lorene) Kitching; Ralph (Ruthan) Kitching; Pearl Cooper; Bernice (Archie) Gill; George McAdam, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Earl, brother Tom Smears, young sister Barbara, and two infant brothers. Eileen was born in Carman, MB and educated in Homewood and Carman. She was employed by the Royal Bank in Winnipeg and Carman before marrying Earl in 1948. They cattle farmed in the Harperville and Inwood area. During retirement, they resided in Inwood, Teulon, and Stonewall. They celebrated their 61st anniversary before Earl's passing. The family would like to thank the staff of Red River Place for their kindness and care during Eileen's stay. In accordance with Eileen's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Roland, MB on September 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
