GABOR FARKAS December 18, 1942 - September 9, 2014 On, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Gabor Farkas passed away at the age of 71 years. Gabor was predeceased by his parents, Gabor and Katalin Farkas. He is survived by, his wife Herta Farkas, sister: Irene Ferenczi (Lajos), brother, Leslie Farkas (Katalin); sons, Steven Farkas (Bridget), Walter Farkas (Cathy) and Garry Farkas (Kristin); grandchildren, Brady Farkas, Taylor Farkas, Shawn Sullivan; great-grandchildren, Emmett Klassen, Madison Sullivan. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous nieces, family members, and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.   • Gabe was a caring, sincere yet hilarious man. The way he would tell a story... was this a joke? Or was he serious? He kept a straight face to the end. His family was his heart, he spoke of his boys with so much love. Herta, when he talked about you (every single day) his face lit up. I really missed him when he retired.
