DONALD RICHARD KLAPECKI
Born: Jun 11, 1956
Date of Passing: Sep 10, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD RICHARD KLAPECKI Peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 Don passed away at the age of 58 after a short illness, surrounded by his wife and family. Born June 11, 1956, he will be forever missed by his loving wife of 25 years, Liana, sisters Lori (Chris) and Janis (Dennis), and uncles Milton, Charlie (Pat), Steve, Richard and Larry. Also missing him terribly are his two puppies Cinder and Maddie, and many friends, special cottage friends and co-workers. Don was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Joyce Klapecki, as well as father-in-law Arthur Knopf. Don was a hard-working, kind, gentle and generous man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and was always ready to help in any way he could. A fantastic cook, his spring rolls will be sorely missed by all who enjoyed them at the cottage block parties. The cottage at Otter Falls was his first love...next to his wife and puppies, and many an hour were spent in enjoyment trying to catch the "big one that got away". Cremation has taken place, and a Come and Go Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, September 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please email klapeckil@gmail.com to RSVP and receive directions. A memorial service will take place for family and friends at the cottage at a later date. The family would like to thank Doctors Blouw and Brar, Charge Nurse Lynn, and all the wonderful interns, nurses and aides in ICM on the second floor at St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care he received in the unit. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to D'Arcy's A.R.C., and remember to hug your loved ones and tell them you love them, for you never know...it may be the last time they hear it. 25 years plus have gone by since I (and Rick) introduced Don and Liana; I sang at the wedding and the beautiful suprprise 25th anniversary celebration Don planned for his beloved wife; he dressed up like Darth Vader for Jason's birthday - that was awesome - they both still remember that! Jason and Jordan watched UFC at their home - many good memories! Our prayers are with you, Liana, and Don's sisters, Laurie & Janice, et al. - Posted by: Leni Lousier (Friend) on: Sep 16, 2014
