Betty had many interests, she liked to sew, do petit point and needlepoint, knit, crochet and garden. Special thanks to Connie Oberton of Homecare who always made mom laugh. Also Penny, Betty's neighbor at Concordia Village, for her thoughtfulness. Finally, many thanks to the friends and family who supported Betty and her family throughout this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. Betty's ashes will be laid to rest in the Shibley family plot at the First Presbyterian Cemetery in West St. Paul beside her husband, Mel. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Mrs. Shibley (Betty) was an important part of my teenage years and young adulthood because of my friendship with her daughter Karen. But more than that she made me feel like a part of the family, and even went so far as to refer to Karen and I as "her twins". She gave the best hugs freely and often, had a great sense of humour, discussed current issues intelligently and with great zest, and I will miss her. My heart goes out to her family and close friends at this time. Such a great caring lady, who shaped the lives of the people around her in the best way. - Posted by: Shaylene Sissons (family friend) on: Sep 22, 2014

  • Our condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Lorena Reimer - Kelowna, BC (Former co-worker with Karen at CGC) on: Sep 20, 2014
