Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCILLE TOUPIN (née DES ROSIERS) Lucille passed away quietly on September 13, 2014 after a long and fulfilling life. Born in Saint-Boniface on October 17, 1925, she grew up on Roger Street and attended l'Académie St-Joseph. She went on to graduate from Manitoba`s Normal School, and became a devoted elementary and special education teacher for more than 35 years in Saint-Laurent and Saint-Boniface. She instilled a love of learning for hundreds of children over two generations. On May 6, 1950, she married Georges Toupin and together they raised their three children Claudette, Lynne and Paul. In addition to raising her children, she volunteered at l'église du Précieux-Sang. In retirement, her many summers were spent at the family cottage built by her and her husband at Engineer Lake where she hosted relatives, friends, children, and grandchildren. Lucille is lovingly remembered by her husband Georges, her children Claudette (Greg Selinger), Lynne (Aurèle Thériault) and Paul (Heather MacDonald), her six grandchildren: Pascal, éric, Geneviève, Zachary, Yanik, and Brianne, sisters-in-law Thérèse (Paul) Bétournay, Lucille (Bill) Pelland and Simone (Raymond) Smith, brothers-in-law Réal Jubinville and Léo-Paul Savaria, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Edmond and Marie-Antoinette (née Dubois) and her four brothers and five sisters: Anna Woods, Donat, Emilien, Antonin, Jeanne Stragier, Rose Desrosiers, Fabiola Turcotte, Jean and Aline Desaulniers. A special thank you to all the staff at Actionmarguerite-Taché Centre for their care and compassion. Merci Madame...Ginette Fournier - Posted by: Ginette Fournier Richer (ancienne élève ) on: Sep 20, 2014

Condolences to the family. I always recall those wonderful Christmas eve dinners, the marvelous food, the family banter (pretty loud at times), and mom taking charge of the place. She had her way... and it was a good way. When I talked to her, I felt like I was a part of the family.. a great loss... - Posted by: Adriano Magnifico (family friend) on: Sep 18, 2014

My memère and I used to go over to Tante Lucille's and Pascal and I would play for hours. They would bring us to McDonalds and give us treats and lots of hugs!! So sad to hear of her passing, now she is with her sisters and brothers! xo - Posted by: Karly Kulczycki, grand daughter of Rose Desrosiers (Great-Neice) on: Sep 15, 2014

I have fond memories of going over to visit Claudette and feeling so welcome, I was only 6 years old. I also wished I had Mme Toupin as my teacher but was not lucky enough to have her. Everyone wanted to be in her class. The last time I saw her was Residence Despins, my Mother-in-law was moving in, I had such a nice conversation with her. She told me how much she loved to teach and how much the children meant to her. We also talked about Claudette and her family. Gilbert and I are on holidays and are unable to attend the funeral mass, but would like to express our deepest sympathy to all the family. - Posted by: Lorraine Landry Cloutier (Friend) on: Sep 15, 2014
