Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • We spent many Christmases or Boxing Days with Auntie Ellen and Uncle Harry. She was a dear friend to both my parents but definitely her love of sports made her special to my Dad, Sam Posner. Auntie Ellen came to my wedding in Chicago and never missed a birthday or anniversary until this year. I will miss our phone calls and her love ! - Posted by: Ricki Posner Peitchel ("adopted" niece) on: Dec 21, 2014

  • We will always remember Aunt Ellen with a quick wit, very sharp and just fun to talk to. She always had a smile for us and we enjoyed her company on those special occasions that we got to visit with her. She will be missed. - Posted by: Brenda and Raymond Carriere (Friend and daughter married to Rob Speirs) on: Sep 18, 2014

  • I spoke to Ellen in May as she seemed to be the McFetridge who kept in touch with relatives overseas. She knew of a 2nd cousin in England who connected me to her cousin in Ireland. Ellen was very interested to hear of my trip, but unfortunately I am still in Ireland. I will say a prayer for her on Sunday at a church in Northern Ireland close to where her father grew up. I have met the cousins in Ballymena and they send their condolences as Ellen kept in touch with their Aunt Jean. Ellen was a wonderful person with a very sharp memory. - Posted by: Brenda Colyer (2nd cousin) on: Sep 17, 2014

  • Our most sincere sympathy to Ellen's family. Ellen and Bill were the best Gimli neighbors ever! Our friendship continued when Ellen moved to Winnipeg. I always looked forward to visiting Ellen on her birthday. Ellen never forgot a birthday card, Christmas card or a friendly 'how ya doin' phone call. May you rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Clarence and Nadine Zdebiak and family (old neighbors and friends) on: Sep 16, 2014
