BILL TROSCHUK It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Dad, Papa, and Great-Grandpa. Dad passed peacefully at his daughter Sharon's home, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 15, 2014. Dad was predeceased by his wife Ellen in March 2003, his parents, Justine and Onysko, and his siblings, Mike, Pete, Mary, and Walter. He is survived by his children, Ken (Ebba), Carol, Sharon (Barry), Geoff (Tamara), and Don (Michelle); grandchildren, Treena, Jennifer (Jay), Sarah (Vince), Brian (Vanessa), Kyle, Karly (Tim), and Jeffrey; great-grandchildren, Nico and Atticus, and he was looking forward to the birth of his third great-grandchild in just a few weeks. Dad is also survived by his sisters, Anne, Dorothy (Tony), Sonya, and brother John (Vi), and his sisters-in-law, Mary, Stella, and Mary. Dad was born in the "Spring" of 1923 in Poplarfield, Manitoba and left home at an early age to work in bush camps and mines in Northern Ontario, and harvesting in Southern Manitoba. Dad moved to Winnipeg in the late 1940s and began working at Kiewels in 1948, retiring 40 years later at Labatts. Dad and Mom were married in June 1950 and enjoyed 53 years together. Dad and Mom's life revolved around their family and they enjoyed travelling south and taking their grandchildren to many rural festivals throughout the province. Dad was a master craftsman whose talents allowed him to build or fix many things for family and friends. He took great pride in maintaining his home and yard. Dad loved being surrounded by his family. His compassion, laughter, and sense of humor will be greatly missed. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Dad's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Salvation Army. "A life well lived." Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 338-7111
