I remember Joyce and Irene as 2 of my favourite guests at Red Lobster! Shrimp cocktails and salad with red wine vinaigrette. So sad to read of Joyce's passing. My thoughts are with you Irene. Teri - Posted by: Teri () on: Sep 28, 2014

I was saddened to hear of Miss Hill's passing. I remember her fondly from Grade 6 at Buchanan Elementary School. I specifically remember her as an excellent educator and of course at the end of the year she hosted a "end of year" party for us at her home in Woodhaven. She was a wonderful lady. Rest in peace Miss Hill. - Posted by: Sheona Miller (Former Student Buchanan School 1970/71) on: Sep 27, 2014

Joyce was a wonderful and caring person, and gave freely of her to help others. I knew her from guiding, but also from the University Women's Club. It was Joyce and Irene who encouraged me to become active with the International Federation of University Women's Club. You never heard a cross word from Joyce. - Posted by: Mary Scott (Friend) on: Sep 26, 2014

Joyce was a gracious lady and a kind soul. When I started as a very green president at CFUW, Irene and Joyce really mentored me. They were known as attending every International Federation of University Women's triennium and every CFUW AGM - traveling across Canada and internationally. They knew all the nuances of how meetings worked and how to make your voice heard at meetings. Everywhere they traveled they made friends and came home with stories. Joyce was a relaxed leader - inviting and unflustered by chaos. She would simply laugh off whatever disaster was eminent and 'carry on'. She has written very gently on the earth but with a lasting script. - Posted by: Doris Mae Oulton (friend and collegue) on: Sep 26, 2014

Joyce was a very giving person of her time and support at the University Women's Club of Winnipeg. She could knit up a pair of mitts with her eyes closed! But it is not only the mitts, she was also a great mentor, she taught me that anything is possible and to go with your gut feeling. May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Sylvia Marsh (UWC- CFUW member) on: Sep 23, 2014

Joyce will be remembered by the members of the University Women's Club of Winnipeg for her many years of dedication, service and support. She contributed many hours to many committees and ultimately served as President. Her gentle cheerful smile and quiet ways were greatly appreciated. There is one special place at the Dining Room table that will always be hers! Muriel Aboul-Atta (a fellow member of UWC) - Posted by: Muriel Aboul-Atta (friend) on: Sep 22, 2014
