Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN RUSSELL HOLMES Peacefully after a brief illness, on September 15, 2014 at the Grace Hospice, Mr. John Russell Holmes, aged 75 years passed away. He was predeceased by his father John Val Holmes in 1979 and his mother Marion Ruth Hitchings in 1988. Russ leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Brigit (Todd), his granddaughter Jessica and Brigit's mother Cathy. Russ had a wonderful sense of humor and really enjoyed making people laugh! In his younger years he enjoyed dancing, bowling and curling. Later on in life he enjoyed watching his movies and watching his granddaughter grow up. Our deepest gratitude is extended to the staff at Grace Hospital and Grace Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1174 River Road, Selkirk, MB. It was always fun TRYING to match wits with Russ when I brought in plans / profiles for review - and usually revision after his eagle eye had spotted some error / omission/ non standard usage.
