Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryADAM MARK POPKES April 8, 1979 - September 21, 2014 Our hearts were broken by Adam's sudden death on Sunday morning, September 21, 2014 at Grace Hospital. He leaves to mourn, his loving partner Crystal Creighton, his parents, Barbara and Dennis Popkes, brother Derek (Sinead), aunt and uncle Karen and Don Lumgair, many cousins and his close friend and neighbour Murray Knutt. Adam was born in Winnipeg, excelled at sports, particularly basketball, then football. He entered into a sales career, first the auto industry, and finally foundation repair with his stalwart friend John Froese. Adam so loved animals. His caring heart welcomed many rescued pets into his home. He deeply mourned the recent loss of his beloved dog, Chevy. We would like to thank the paramedics, and the Grace staff for their efforts and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations to Darcy's ARC, 730B Century Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3H 0M1 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Adam so loved a get together, so please come with a memory or two to share. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery). Even though I only met Adam a couple of times when he was very little, I sure knew his mom, dad, Barb and his aunt Judy whom I was dear friends with for nearly 40 years until her untimely passing back on April 12, 1999.
