AILEEN MAE (COOKIE) DAVIDSON (nee PETTY) Aileen Mae "Cookie" Davidson (nee Petty), beloved wife of the late Alf Davidson, of Cypress River, MB, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 83 years. Left to mourn Cookie's passing are son Daryl (Carole) and daughter Karen Davidson of Winnipeg, MB, grandchildren Ryan (Nikki) and Jaime, and great-grandchildren Lucas, Zach, Rachel and Alex, of Calgary, AB. Cookie also leaves to mourn her passing brothers John Petty of Toronto, ON, William Petty of Calgary, AB, sister-in-law Edith Davidson, honorary family member James Threlfell, and special friends Tim, Lorelei, Nick and Alex Wytinck, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cookie was predeceased by her husband Alfred Davidson, and parents Ernest and Amy (nee Shephard) Petty. Mom was born October 6, 1930 in East York Township, York County, ON. Mom and Dad met in Toronto and were married on October 7, 1950. They moved to Cypress River, MB in the summer of 1954. She resided there until her recent passing. She loved family, friends and life in general. Mom enjoyed baking, canning and preserving and was proud of entering the local fair and winning many prizes for the past 59 years. She loved to garden and tending to her plants. She loved getting together with family and friends. Many card games were played with lots of "friendly banter". She enjoyed her mini-holidays with family and friends over the years. A private family service was held in the Glencoe Cemetery.
