Condolences & Memories (16 entries)

  • I enjoyed getting to know Harvey and work with him during my time in Winnipeg. Harvey made my job so much easier by being one of those individuals who always kept a positive "get-r-done" attitude - no matter what was asked of him. I enjoyed my "little talks" with Harvey back in the shipping office. I'm saddened of the news of Harvey's passing and I'm sure he will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. God Bless you Harvey - rest in peace. - Posted by: Tim Nuckols (co-worker at Sonoco) on: Oct 01, 2014

  • I worked with Harvey for a short time, but it was an amazing time. He was always so helpful, always went out of his way to get all my requestes taken care of. That was just the kind of guy he was. He always went above and beyond. He was someone you were happy to call Friend. He will most definately be missed. Rest in peace My Friend. - Posted by: Dawn Lecours (CSR at Sonoco Terrebonne) on: Oct 01, 2014

I had the pleasure of working closely with Harvey for 10 years or so and he was always a stand up gentlemen with a big sincere true heart and no matter the reason business or just plain old friendship chats Harv was always fun to see and talk to. He always found the good in people and that true quality he always showed did and will always help me be a better person and will always cherish that teaching he passed on to me and am sure many others. • I had the pleasure of working with Harvey for 7 years at Sonoco. I know there were times Harvey cringed when he saw my phone number come up Friday at 4 pm on a long weekend. He would also work his magic and get it done. Harvey was the same easy going person outside of work as he was at work, always smiling, friendly and would give you the time of day. A new star is shining bring in the sky now. Rest in Peace Harvey. - Posted by: Debbie Lesage (Co-Worker) on: Sep 28, 2014

  • I have had the honour and pleasure in getting to know Harvey as a co-worker and a friend during our time at Sonoco. He was always the guy to give you warm hugs, greet you with a big smile. He held such positive attitude toward everything he did. Harvey always made time to chat with me at least once a week to see how my family was doing. He has such a caring loving attitude. I am honoured to have known such a man. Our sincere condolences to his family. Rest in peace my friend. Heaven has received a new angel. - Posted by: Christie Tabing (Co worker (sonoco) ) on: Sep 27, 2014

  • I worked at Sonoco with Harvey for 13 years, he was always a friendly, happy guy. When I first started I ran into Harvey out in Wpg. beach and Gimli and always had that Connection with him. I am sorry for your loss - Posted by: Ringo Boychuk (Friend/co-worker) on: Sep 27, 2014

  • There are so many things I could say about Harvey but most of all is that my life is better for having known him, it was such an honour to call him my friend. Rest in peace dear friend. - Posted by: Lorelei Curtis (Friend and co-worker) on: Sep 27, 2014

  • Harvey was a pleasure to work with, he had a great work ethic and as a person was thoughtful and kind. I know it is customary to say nice things in such times but Harvey truly was a kind and gentle person and had a quiet but witty sense of humor. I always got a kick out of him telling me about his younger days with his long lair and bike. Harvey you will be missed very much. - Posted by: Rosie Magnussen ( Coworker) on: Sep 27, 2014

  • Harvey was a great man.. so sad... .too soon... too young... during our final days at Sonoco Harvey shared many thoughts of what he wanted to do with his time and his family. Especially his grandkids and how much he loved Gimli. Rest in peace my friend. My deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: Blaine krawchuk (co worker) on: Sep 27, 2014

  • Having left Sonoco when the plant closed down in 2010, I haven't seen many of the people I used to work with, Harvey being one of them. I'm in total shock from this very sad news of his passing. I will always remember Harvey not only because he was such a nice person, but also for the many kindnesses he showed in the 12 years I worked there. He always had a pleasant smile for you and at Sonoco that was a hard thing to do most days because of the time sensitive work we did and EVERYthing was a rush. Harvey was someone who made you feel more like a friend than a co-worker. I will miss him sorely. RIP Harvey - Posted by: Kathe Huot (worked with Harvey at Sonoco) on: Sep 27, 2014

  • My condolences to Diane and his family. A more dedicated man I have yet to find. Peace be with you. - Posted by: Maurice Thiessen (Co worker) on: Sep 27, 2014
