SIGURJON (SAM) THORKELSON With great sadness the family of Sam Thorkelson announces his passing on September 27, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 89. Memorial service to be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Johnson Hall, Waterfront Centre, 94th - 1st Avenue, Gimli, MB.

  • My sincere and deepest sympathy to, Laura, Ruth, Chris and all of Sams family. Sam,loved his family and,was always there,for them,when they needed him. Sam and I shared many years of friendship,a, friendship which,I called a comfortable friendship,always able to take up where we left off,no matter the length of time between contact. My life was enriched by, Sams friendship,I shall miss him,very much. Sam never talked about dying to me,he always called it,"Crossing the River" In my heart,I know he has had a smooth crossing.
