Sharon was one of my friends growing up in McAuley, MB. We were both town kids and we hung out a lot: riding bikes, playing ball or kick the can or going out to the "Nuisance Grounds" looking for neat stuff. Sharon was a great kid and lots of fun. I also remember she was very smart, a fast learner. She read every book in our Grade 4/5 classroom library. Miss Wery ran out of things for Sharon to do. I was so impressed. Wish we had been able to keep up but life pulled us in different directions. I've often wondered where Sharon was. It's good to know she had a family and a good life. It's heart warming to read all the fine messages about my old friend, Sharon Gray. - Posted by: Cheryl Anderson Dann (McAuley - childhood friend) on: Oct 05, 2014

Never thought when we left to Fort McMurray in early September that would be the last time I would see you. I would have held you closer & hugged you that much longer. You were always like a mother to me and a wonderful Granny to my children. I think of all the great times we had & how you we a big part of our lives. Always energetic & so willing to do anything at anytime for me and my children. Oh how I'm gonna miss your company. You never had a negative view of anyone and always saw the good in people. We will forever miss your smile & your laughter. Family is not about blood it about who will hold your hand when you need it the most. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I met Sharon 17 years ago when I fell in love with her daughter, for 17 years I have watched Sharon do things for other people and family and for me that seems almost impossibly selfless. She was the most giving, loving and wonderful mom a guy could ever ask for. She never judged me and never once scolded me for being who I am. She was unique in every way and I wish we had 100 million more of her. - Posted by: Sam Power (son(inlaw) tho i never felt like a inlaw) on: Oct 03, 2014

I am sorry to hear of Sharon's sudden passing. My best memories of her will always be the mischief and laughter we shared together when working all-nights on the old Toll Unit II switchboard. My sympathies go out to her family. - Posted by: Jennine Veenstra (Past co-worker) on: Oct 03, 2014

I remember Sharon very fondly. She was always laughing or smiling and always had a way with people...knowing how to make them feel better, calm them down and put them in a better place. She was very down to earth and relatable...easy to talk to and selflessly gracious. I hadn't seen her in a number of years, but I remember the years at MTS as being easier to deal with knowing she was there to make all well. She will be fondly missed. My condolences to her family. Rest in peace Sharon. - Posted by: Carla Greenberg (former MTS fellow employee) on: Oct 02, 2014

We will miss Sharon so much at our Crafters Care group. She was so generous with her time and skills. Some members just like to make squares but Sharon had the unique ability to put those squares together and complete the most beautiful afghans that were donated to a variety of charities. She touched so many lives. - Posted by: Jo-Anne Pelzer (union sister & crafters care friend) on: Oct 02, 2014
