ELDA FOLLIOTT It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Elda Folliott (nee Ferguson) on Monday, September 29, 2014 at age 86. Elda was predeceased by her husband Walter, five siblings and her parents. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Nancy, son Bob and wife Laurie, grandchildren Heather, Andrea and partner Sascha, Stephen and wife Kristin, Stacey and husband Scott, great-grandchildren Kayden, Karstyn, Calleigh, Taya, Daphne, Thomas, Robyn and Parker. Elda, born in Foxwarren, Manitoba, was the youngest child of homesteaders Robert and Helen Ferguson. After 17 years on the farm, she moved to Winnipeg to attend Success Business College. While a teacher at Success, an outgoing young male student wanted to get her attention by tripping her, then thought better of it, and decided instead to marry her. Thus, in 1948 Elda's fun-loving 58-year journey with Walter Folliott began. Enriched by a wealth of friends and laughter, their life together teemed with travel, bridge games, costume parties, and, of course, the daily cocktail hour. Thanks to the staff at The Westhaven and Charleswood Care Centre for their kindness over the last few years. According to Elda's wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no service. The family invites friends to an informal Celebration of Life arranged for a later date. Memorial donations to your favourite charity will be greatly appreciated. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Our prayers are with you Nancy and all of your family during this time of loss. It was my pleasure to meet and share with your mother this past winter in your home. God's grace be with you today and always. Peace, Brent & Monique Gillon - Posted by: Brent & Monique Gillon (Friends) on: Oct 06, 2014

  • Our condolences go out to the family. Our memories go back to the corner of Musgrove & Barker in Winnipeg. If it wasn't the paint colour we were about to put on our house, it was the cocktail hour at the intersection! Always a fun lady to be around as was Walter. A life well lived. - Posted by: Cam & Mort Doyle (former Winnipeg neighbours) on: Oct 06, 2014

  • It was my pleasure to meet Edna and to sing with her. She had a zest for life and music. The family is in my thoughts during this time and I wish them comfort in good memories. - Posted by: Ernie Dyck (Music man) on: Oct 06, 2014
