Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK SOBERING Frank Sobering, aged 84 years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at St. Boniface General Hospital, Winnipeg, MB. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Lena; children Ryan (Michelle), Wayne (Debbie), Ricky (Sheri) and Donna (Mario), daughter-in-law Nicole; grandchildren Jordan, McKenah, Pamela, Kyle, Tyler, Sydney, Lukas, Jesse, Jory, Jia and Cheyenne. Frank was predeceased by his son Mark in 2008. Frank was born in Steinbach on August 28, 1930 and married Lena on April 18, 1953. Frank and Lena raised their family in Piney, Manitoba where Frank worked as a foreman for the Department of Highways for nearly 37 years. After his retirement he started his own business - Sobering Security. Frank enjoyed visiting friends and neighbours and helping them on the farm. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at the Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Hwy 52W, Steinbach, Manitoba on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be directed to the Mark Sobering Memorial Award. Cheques are payable to the University of Manitoba and may be mailed to Donor Relations, 200 137 Innovation Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 6B6 or made on-line at umanitoba.ca/giving.
