Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERALDINE MAE WALKER (nee WOODWARD) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Geraldine Walker on October 2, 2014. Gerry passed peacefully with family by her side and entered into God's eternal peace. Gerry was born to Russell M and Delia E (Theissen) Woodward at home on August 17, 1942 in rural Columbus, WI. She met her husband David in 1960 when he was stationed at Truax field in Madison, WI with the RCAF. By the time she figured out he was a Canadian military man it was too late and they were soon married on September 9, 1961. In 1963 they were transferred back to Canada where they lived until her passing, although never forgetting her American roots. Geraldine is survived by and will forever be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband David, daughter Deborah, sons Robert and Dwayne, grandchildren Owen and Cassandra and great-grandchild Brooke. She is also survived by her Wisconsin brothers and sisters; Robert (Patti) Woodward of Pardeeville, Donald (Sharon) Woodward of Columbus, Russell J (Jeanette) Woodward of Watertown, William (Nancy) Woodward of Sun Prairie, Harlan (Betsy) Woodward of Columbus, Ron Woodward of Oregon, Audrey (Phil) Batz of Sun Prairie, Marcella (Don Steffenhagen, companion) Woodward of Arlington; 21 nieces/nephews; 26 great nieces/nephews; Thomas Kvale of Clintonville, Joan Woodward of DeForest; brother-in-law Wray (Carol) Walker of Victoria, along with many cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Kvale. For all who knew her Gerry's passions in life were for her faith, family and friends. Although we grieve at our loss we should rejoice in her lasting impact and her ascendency into Heaven. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 with viewing at 10:00 a.m. and services at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint James Lutheran Church, 871 Cavalier Dr. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gerry can be made to the Lutheran Womens Missionary League-Canada, 3704 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3K 0Y2 or a charity of choice. Gerry's friendship and her acts of kindness will not be forgotten. Her hand crafted tote bags are beautiful and I will cherish mine. She always shared her goodies during our stay in hospital and she came back to visit me after she was discharged. My deepest sympathy to the Walker Family. Rest in peace dear friend, yours Helga - Posted by: Helga Cychmistruk (Friend ) on: Oct 10, 2014

Everything Geraldine did was with love. If you were lucky enough to taste one of her pies, you know the secret ingredient was love. Geraldine holds the title for "Best Pie Baker Ever" and all the Saints in Heaven will soon be loosening their belts! We will miss "visiting" on the deck. - Posted by: Michele & Lawrence (adopted neighbors on Cornwall) on: Oct 08, 2014

Despite her numerous health issues, Gerry always had a smile. I first met her over 10 years ago when we helped in the kitchen for Vacation Bible School ....she was an instant friend to all !! I marvelled at her willingness to work no matter what the task (especially since she used a walker to get around)...A Godly woman with a love and devotion for her friends, family and above all, her God. Rest in peace dear friend. My thoughts and prayers are with David and the children, grand children and great grand children ..Blessings, Liisa Johnson - Posted by: Liisa Johnson (Friend from Saint James Lutheran) on: Oct 08, 2014

Oh, how I will miss my dear friend Gerri. We had so many fun times over the years and how we did like our coffees. I have memories of visiting at least three times with Gerri her at her childhood home in Wisconsin and meeting her family. After I moved back to my hometown, we talked on the phone visited when i came to the city, send cards, pictures and Gerri and Dave also visited my childhood town. Will love and miss you forever Gerri. Rest in peace dear friend. - Posted by: Leone Sigurdson (Friend) on: Oct 07, 2014
