My condolences to the entire Babulic family. I remember her as a warm and welcoming woman (as well as a fellow "Valley Girl"), who took the time to reach out in remembrance. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss. - Posted by: Susan Code McDougall () on: Oct 14, 2014

Beautiful lady, fantastic sense of humour, brilliant mind. Taught any High school subject with ease, as all of her students and teachers will attest to. She lit up any room she entered - to say she will be missed would be the understatement of all time!! Arrivederci Gen It is our personal sadness that we send our sympathy to Mike and the four sons and their families. - Posted by: George and Liz Green (Long time personal friend, co-worker, sorority sister, mentor.) on: Oct 09, 2014

To my aunt Gen, I will always remember you as an independent spirit, a woman who had a mind of her own and was ahead of her time. Gen and uncle Mike were a wonderful demonstration of the power of a great relationship, always there at each other's side. She was a woman who cared for others, was dedicated to her craft (teaching), had a love of painting and managed to raise 4 boys with relative ease. I will always admire you. With love, Maureen - Posted by: Maureen McNamara (niece and godchild) on: Oct 09, 2014

Mrs. Babulic was a force to be reckoned with at R. D. Parker when I was a student there between 1979 and 1984. She has earned her rest. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Carolyn Halcrow (Former student) on: Oct 08, 2014

Just remembering the fun summer adventures Gen and I enjoyed as children. Summer holidays at Grama's. We always said we were double first cousins as my Dad and her Mom were brother and sister but her Dad and my Mom were brother and sister. Many years later and miles apart I could always count on our birthday and Christmas phone calls. I will always treasure our last one June 25/14. Rest in peace Gen. - Posted by: Helen and Bud Clouthier (First double cousins) on: Oct 08, 2014

I so admired Gen, Mike, and the entire family. She had a great sense of humor and was always so positive. I loved our 'chance' meetings outside of school and LOVED parent/teacher conferences when we got to connect on another level. So many good laughs. Such a beautiful lady. Lovely family. - Posted by: Darrelyn (Brawders) Marx (friend/teacher) on: Oct 08, 2014

She was a great teacher. Even though I was not a model student, she had a way of getting you to believe in yourself. I remember her reading us stories in class. We are all better people for having her for a teacher. - Posted by: Bill and Lynn Langin (Former student) on: Oct 08, 2014

My sincere condolences to Mr. Babulic and family. I remember babysitting the four boys when I was a teenager in Thompson. It was one of my favorite places to be asked to babysit (snacks were always great) as the boys were so well behaved. Keep all the happy memories close, as it helps to get through this difficult time. - Posted by: Alexa (Hnatuk) LeStrat (friend) on: Oct 08, 2014

Mum and Dad were friends of the Babulic's back in the sixties. I babysat for them for many years. What always impressed me about Gen was her happy voice!! We saw one another last in 1993 (think it was) in a large hall, and I knew she was there when I heard her voice. Our condolences to Mike, and the boys (and their families). Rest in Peace Mrs. Babulic. - Posted by: Bea Maltby and Cheryl and Ross Annand (Former Thompsonite friends) on: Oct 08, 2014

Gen was my favourite co-worker of all time. As the rookie of the English Department, Gen took me under her wing, sharing insights and offering encouragement when the going got tough. Every Christmas, she and Mike opened their home for the department Christmas party, which was always a standout in the season. I really admired her kindness, her great sense of humour and her dedication to the teaching profession. She will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Marsha Bailey (Co-worker at RD Parker Collegiate - English Department) on: Oct 08, 2014

It was a pleasure to have had Gen in our lives. Even though it wasn't often, we could always pick up where we left off, especially on our annual Christmas communication. Love Cathy and Jim - Posted by: Cathy (Jim) Thomson (cousin) on: Oct 08, 2014

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of the times we all played "school" at each others' homes and took turns playing teacher. Rest in peace Gen, you were a good friend. Anne Marie - Posted by: Anne Marie Moruzi (Friend since grade school.) on: Oct 07, 2014
