CORDELIA (CORY) (NOLETTE) HAYTER Cordelia (Cory) Hayter passed away peacefully on October 4, 2014 after a brief struggle with cancer. Cory was predeceased by her husband, Allan Hayter, and her seven siblings, Georgie, Elizabeth, Etheline, Annie, Louis, Edward and Ernie. She leaves behind her children Nora Nolette (Susan), Robert Nolette, Gerald Nolette (Corinna) and granddaughter, Jordan. Born in St. Vital on September 28, 1927, Cory lived her entire life in Winnipeg. Cory and Al enjoyed travelling, fishing and attending legion functions. Family gatherings to celebrate special occasions and holidays were always important to Cory. As time passed, she especially looked forward to regular family visits when her health prevented her from leaving home. Her weekly hair appointment with her longtime friend and hairstylist, Jean, was a good excuse to get together and share a laugh. She also got much pleasure from the company of her apartment neighbours, Gloria and Mary-Helen, Father Isadore and her Avon lady, Florence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. A celebration of Cory's life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

I met Cory when she and my mother shared a room at Deer Lodge Centre. She made sure my mother got settled. Shared her TV, her phone til my mom had her own. Every day I went up - there she was, open armed for giving hugs and waiting to share a story while we munched on the cookies she saved up from the snack cart. Cordelia Hayter was a "fire cracker". Allan Hayter will have his hands full once again. - Posted by: Michele (friend) on: Oct 09, 2014
