Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • We met Mom when she came to Edmonton to visit Joe and Tresea many years ago and she automatically adopted us as her kids. She became a permanent part of our family as time went on. We travelled to Winnipeg as part of the wedding party for Joe and Tresea's wedding and while their mom officially called Brian (Sonny Boy). We spent many a night on the computer chatting with mom and enjoyed those surprise visits she would make to Edmonton off and on. We loved her very much and always will. RIP Mary Ellen and we will see you again - Posted by: Brian and Dorothy Warren (She adopted us as her kids) on: Oct 15, 2014

  • To Laurie and family, my heart felt sympathy... A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again. Have so many wonderful memories of Mary Ellen. I have been so privileged to have known her. The celebration of her life today was so real we could feel her presence among us. Your mom would have been so grateful for this celebration John. Thank you for your heart warming words. - Posted by: Carmelle (Friend) on: Oct 15, 2014

  • My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Mary Ellen was a great lady, I got to know her at the Ste Anne's prayer group. What a sense of humor, a caring person, loved to laugh, and sing. What a beautiful voice. A group of us would go sing at the Foyer in Ste. Anne's at Christmas time. We had so much fun. She will be missed. A friend Lena - Posted by: Lena () on: Oct 13, 2014

  • Mary Ellen was my husband's cousin, but from the moment she and I met in 1982, we were bonded friends and "cousins" from that day forward. It's almost impossible for me to write "was", and I thought twice about it, because M.E. will live on in the joy she brought people (especially her best friend and sister, Pam Spence) and the inspiration that she gave to others (myself included). She was a lady who deeply loved family, and her grandson, Brandan, was her special buddy. She's the first one I thought of to send funny jokes to, and I'm so grateful for the relationship we had together. She will be sorely missed. Our sympathy to the entire family, we share your sorrow. - Posted by: Lin & Dennis Finlayson (cousins) on: Oct 12, 2014

  • I didn't know Mary Ellen well but, from the few times I did meet and work with her at the dog show in Paradise Village, I knew her to be a charming and warmhearted lady. My sincere sympathy to you, Laurie, and to the rest of her family. - Posted by: Doreen Bullen (Friend) on: Oct 12, 2014

  • One of the family's brightest lights has gone out and our sadness and sorrow is beyond what words can say but we take comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of her creator and in the company of those she loves. She was a beautiful, talented and loving person who brightened all of our lives and filled the world with fun and laughter. She will truly be missed. - Posted by: Jerry and Barbara Finlayson (Cousin) on: Oct 12, 2014
