Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Tom & family, Debbie & family Just learned of Cindy's death today in St. Laurent from Father Dominique. I am so sorry for all of you. I was stunned when Marie passed away and am even more shocked to hear of Cindy's. My sincere condolences to all of you. And, Debbie, thank you so much for passing on your mom's albums to me. What a treasure trove of family history! We are anticipating publishing just a picture book of the wealth of material she kept... Thank you! • I too had the good fortune of knowing Cindy through golf and bridge at Palm Valley Country Club. As one of the founding members of our twice weekly bridge group, she will be most especially missed. My sincere condolences to Tom and the Takvam family. - Posted by: Ruth Kusnir (Friend) on: Oct 19, 2014

  • What a very dear and special lady Cindy was...friend to so many in our desert community...loved by everyone. In spite of her tremendous back pain, especially the last year, she was still engaged in all the activities (except golf & hiking), serving on one of our golf boards, doing much committee work, always such a giving and thoughtful person. To me she was such a good friend...Nick & I had dinner with her and Tom the night before they left, wished them well, get the back surgery done...and be back to really enjoy and play golf! How life changed...it is unthinkable to me...I kept in touch over the summer, and had communication with her Sept. 30...such tremendous sadness...she will be sorely missed by us all. Our best to her dear family...we always heard about her love for you...we know how much you will miss your incredible mother/grandmother/wife! - Posted by: Carol Speliopoulos (Palm Valley CC Friend) on: Oct 19, 2014

  • My sincere sympathies to Tracy, Tom and families. I met Cindy through Tracy at Zack's hockey games and truly enjoyed sitting beside her at the games. She was a wonderful, friendly, funny, and spirited lady. I know she will be missed dearly by all. May the support of others and the cherished memories you have of her provide you comfort at this time. Thinking of you all, Karen - Posted by: Karen Petras (Friend) on: Oct 17, 2014

  • My sincere sympathy to Tom, Tracy, Rob and family. I remember when we were growing up on the farm how many times Cindy and her family would come out for a visit. Again my sincere sympathy. - Posted by: Lesley Jackson (nee Fordyce) (Cousin) on: Oct 16, 2014

  • I met Cindy at Palm Valley Country Club. I loved her smile and her sincere interest in everyone she met. I found Cindy to be a kind, sensitive, and fun loving woman who always contributed to others any way she could. I will miss her bright spirit. Cindy will always have a special spot in my heart. - Posted by: Jill Patterson (Friend) on: Oct 15, 2014

  • We met Cindy and Tom 6 years ago in California. We meshed from day one. Every year it was a joy to see them both again. We had so much fun together. I played golf and bridge with Cindy. She was a delight, a special fun person. All of her Palm Valley community are reeling from our loss. She was the dearest of people. Rest in Peace Cindy. You were loved! - Posted by: Charlene and Glen Sambrooke (friends) on: Oct 15, 2014
