EVELYN MYSKIW Peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, Evelyn Myskiw passed away at Oakview Place at the age of 80. Evelyn will be missed by her siblings; Mary (Frank), Stella, Bill (Dorothy), Irene (Dennis), Jeannette (Bob), as well as many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was born on June 29, 1934 in Maleb, Manitoba. She later moved to Warren, Manitoba with her parents and siblings. In her late teens, Evelyn's adventurous personality inspired her to make the move to Winnipeg where she could explore numerous possibilities. She retired as a secretary from the R.C.M.P. "D" Division after many years of service. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents William and Katherine Myskiw, brother Fred Myskiw, brother-in-law Robert James and nephew Bradley Gallant. In 2004, Evelyn was devastated after her beloved soul mate Donald Wardrop suddenly passed away. Evelyn's love was travelling and had many wonderful trips with Donald. They frequently visited Hawaii, Las Vegas and the Maritime Provinces. She also visited Australia and several Asian countries. Her unfilled dream was to travel back to Las Vegas. Evelyn lived in St. James for the majority of her life. When she could not continue to live on her own she moved to Rosewood Place (Dogwood House). During her time there she made new friends and started adjusting to her new home. Unfortunately, due to her advanced cancer she moved to Oakview Place so she could receive the additional care she needed. After Donald's passing, she became more dependent on her family whom she loved dearly and she counted on them for the support they provided through difficult times and her fearless fight of this dreadful disease. A heartfelt thanks goes to the staff at Rosewood and Oakview Place (3rd Floor), for their support, kindness and exceptional care. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Donations can be made to Oakview Place, 2395 Ness Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1A5. Evelyn, you are now at peace and have been reunited with Donald! We will sorely miss the wonderful times we had with you! www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
