Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE CHRISTIE (nee SAWISKY) 1933 2014 With heavy hearts the family announces the peaceful passing of Katherine Christie at her residence on October 14, 2014. Katherine was predeceased by her son Joseph. She was also predeceased by her later husband Paul Christie and siblings, Zanovia, John, Metro, Anne, Steve, Harry, and Nick. She will be greatly missed by her children Louise, Garry (Helen), Beverly, Brenda (Allan), and Barb (Todd). In addition, left to cherish her memory are her sister Mary Felawka, grandchildren Tami, Shaun, Ryan, Gallagher, Rory, Julie, Kaitlin, Kyra, and Nolan, and great-grandchildren, Kai and Colton, friend Campbell and many other friends and extended family. Katherine was born in Ozerna, MB, and raised in the Sandy Lake region. She started her nursing in Brandon, MB and moved to Winnipeg to continue in health care, where she later retired. Katherine enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, and making her special pickled beets and perogies for her family. She most enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. Katherine was a loving mother and a best friend to everyone that knew her. Whenever she was around there was an abundance of laughter. She was the glue to our family. Memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception will follow. Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery 338-7111
