I am so grateful I had the opportunity, when Janice took me to meet Uncle Dan in Aug 2014. We all had a wonderful day together. This was one of the highlights of my trip and will always be memorable. - Posted by: Karen Biffen (Friend of the Family) on: Oct 21, 2014

Uncle Dan always had a story about life on the farm, or some hunting trip that made feel as though I was there. His humor was clean and never demeaning. I will always remember the look of joy in his eyes as I played "You Are My Sunshine" for him on the guitar. Truly, a man among men. I am grateful for your presence in my life, however distant. - Posted by: Harold Anderson (Nephew) on: Oct 21, 2014

I met Uncle Dan through Janice O'Leary. What a gentle man. So kind-hearted. We played crib and I enjoyed his stories very much. He showed me the house and yard and spoke very kindly of his neighbours, the Lane's. Then Janice pointed out that we share the same birthday, April 5th. We had a good time with that. I returned to Kelowna, BC. I called Uncle Dan the following year on his birthday. We joked that it was a good date to be born and he wished me a Happy Birthday. Thank you Janice for sharing your Uncle Dan with me. He was a true gentleman and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed. - Posted by: Joanne McCarthy (Friend (met Uncle Dan through sister friend Janice O'Leary)) on: Oct 20, 2014

The best neighbor a family could have. Dan was always there helping when my father was working in the garage on something. You will be missed. Friends...please enjoy my small video tribute to Dan. http://youtube/QAFWjhmWNM8 - Posted by: Darryl M. (ex-neighbour) on: Oct 20, 2014

My family grew up across the street from Dan and Edith as well as my Aunt, Uncle and cousin who lived next door. Our families couldn't have asked or dreamed of a better couple to have in the neighbourhood. They were both the most caring and fun people you could ever meet. After my Dad passed away Dan would clear snow for my mother for which our entire family was forever in debt as it allowed her to remain in her home. We'll miss the both of them but are so grateful to have them a part of our families!!! - Posted by: Dave Sesak (Neigbour) on: Oct 20, 2014
