VICTOR VINCENT It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Victor Vincent at the age of 96. Victor died peacefully on October 16, 2014. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Rose of 65 years, and his children Gilbert, Gisèle (George) Holowinski, Aline (Wayne) Madsen, and Fernand. His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren, Avery (Ginger), Vincent (Dana), Troy, Carena (Peter), Kyle (Kim) and his seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Brady, Jeremy, Sierra, Charles and Caspian. He will be fondly missed by brothers-in-law Adrien (Joanne), Henri, sisters-in-law Aline, Thérèse (Ed), Odile (Gilles), nieces and nephews. Victor was predeceased by his parents Fortunat and Marie-Louise Vincent, all of his 13 siblings, Marie-Coronna, Oscar, Aldéa, Marie Antoinette, Maria, Philippe, Jeanne, Omer, Wilfrid, Antoinette, Joseph Fernand, Bella, Sylvio, and his daughter-in-law Rita. Victor was born March 14, 1918 in St. Georges. Rarely heard to complain, he worked hard on the farm and was always willing to lend a hand and his expertise to fellow farmers and neighbours. Victor liked to keep busy and active. He enjoyed his retirement years travelling, golfing, bowling, playing pool, sandbag and cards. He enjoyed good health until a few months ago, but still kept up with sports and news on T.V. Along with his wife Rose, he took part in many of the senior activities and functions at their church and at Foyer Chateauguay. Dad will be remembered for his good nature, his strong work ethic, his easiness to laugh, his faith, his generosity and his devotion to his family. To us, he was a remarkable man and we feel blessed to have had such a wonderful presence in our lives. He will be forever remembered in our hearts. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Prayer service will be held on Tuesday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice SOBERING FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, Beausejour 268-3510 or MB Toll Free 1-877-776-2220 www.soberingfuneralchapel.com

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I had the great pleasure of meeting Uncle Victor last June when he helped lay My Mom (his sister Jeanne) to rest in her final resting place with her family. He told me he knew they were waiting for him but they would have to wait a little longer :) He was so much like my Mom that I was awestruck by his presence. He went above and beyond to find a way for me to see the museum and his very lovely wife Aunt Rose was wonderful! I'm sure while we are missing him dearly that he is enjoying himself immensely with my Mom, Aunt Bella, Aunt Toni and the rest of his loving family. All the best to his family as they go through this hard time...Sincerely Corinne and Denis Martin - Posted by: Corinne Martin (Neice) on: Oct 20, 2014

  • Uncle Victor was my Mother's brother. He was one of the kindest, most gentle speaking people we knew. Uncle Victor and Auntie Rose always made us feel very welcome during our visits to St. George. Auntie Rose, please know that his and your generosity will always be remembered. Uncle Victor, we will miss you. We extend to Auntie Rose and her family, our heartfelt sympathy and love. - Posted by: Roger and Megan Poitras (Nephew Roger and my wife Megan) on: Oct 20, 2014
