I first met Lorne when I was 13 years old and he was 17 through his cousin Wes. I wanted to learn how to play guitar, and Lorne sat with me in his basement and taught me how to play. I often tried to tag along with Lorne, Wes and Ron during those days even though I was a bit young for them. They never sent me away, they were always good to me. Once, Lorne even agreed to come to one of my Junior High School dances with me. He ended up breaking his leg before the dance, but came anyway and even attempted to dance with a broken leg. Later in life there was a period of about 20 years that I heard nothing at all about Lorne, but one day I went to Bingo at the Army & Navy, and there sat Lorne with his mother Hilda. For many years I continued to run into Lorne and Hilda at bingo and always enjoyed good, comfortable conversation with him. It's so hard to believe that he could have passed on at such a young age. I only wish I would have had the chance to say goodbye. Lorne, wherever you are, I want you to know that many of us will always remember you. To all of Lorne's loved ones, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. - Posted by: Germaine Waagenaar (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2014

I was friends with Lorne for years and years. I am so grateful that I was able to spend last Saturday evening with him. We had a great time and a lot of laughs like we always did. It was a night I will always remember. South Beach Casino will never be the same for me. Rest in peace my friend. Deepest condolences to you Hilda, Ray, Steve, Donny, Jodi, Kolby and Ryleigh Audrey & Al McDonald - Posted by: Audrey McDonald (Friend) on: Oct 24, 2014

Lorne has been a longtime family friend. Just saw him on Saturday...we didn't get to see him often but knowing we won't run into him anymore is a sad thought....He was an honest, good man. My sympathies to his Mom and family.... - Posted by: Barbara. Dutiaume (Family friend) on: Oct 23, 2014
