WILLIAM J. BURGESS August 19, 1928 - October 17, 2014 William (Bill) Burgess passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family. Bill will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Lillian (nee Rasmussen), sons Bill (Linda) and Rob (Patrice), daughters Rosemary and Teresa (Bob) Horobec, eight grandsons and their families, four step-granddaughters and their families, siblings Art, Ed and Joan and numerous other relatives. Bill was predeceased by his father Arthur in 1949, mother Nellie in 2012 and sister Helen in 2013. Bill was a salesman and was self-employed for a number of years in the seafood and frozen food industry. He had a wonderful outgoing personality and was never one to forget a person's name. Bill's eyes would light up at the opportunity for a good game of cribbage. He enjoyed camping and traveling to Hawaii and Mexico with family and friends. Bill had a great love for God and for his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. We wish to express our gratitude to the doctors and staff of 5G2 at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton for their care and compassion shown towards Bill and his family. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Parish, 315 Munroe Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Viewing one hour prior to the service. Immediately following the service, please join the family at the Parish hall for lunch and to share your memories and stories of Bill. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street. At Bill's request, pallbearers will be his grandsons Jared, Keith, Stephen, David, Matthew, T.K., Eric and Braeden. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. www.seasonsfunerals.ca
