Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Harald and I were friends for a very long time. We spent innumerable hours playing table tennis. Sometimes he won and sometimes I won. At first, it was mostly him doing the winning. We talked for endless hours about girls, theology, and the meaning of life. Not always in that order. I suppose he has the answers now and I'll have to wait. - Posted by: Erwin Warkentin (Friend) on: Sep 23, 2016

  • So sorry to hear of Harold's passing. Our prayers for the girls will continue. David has great memories of the truck haul from Sexsmith and the girls wanting to ride with him. - Posted by: David and Gwen Hagerman (PRBI friends) on: Apr 09, 2015

  • Harald we are so sad that you are gone, but we are happy for you to be with your Lord! You always shared a knowing smile, a caring heart, a word for thought, and many laughs. When you were our pastor at Bayview/Gimli, you were known and appreciated for your gift of compassion and spending time with the aged and ailing. Last time we saw you (over a year ago), you shared about each of your girls with so much pride and love. We will keep your family in prayer as for now they say farewell, one day those who believe and live for the Lord will meet again. We will see you at the gathering of friends! We loved who you were and will miss you dearly. "Just like a tree planted by the river, you will grow tall and reach your arms to Him, you will give praise, you will give worship to Jesus, your Savior, your Lord" (Andy Park) "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither." Ps 1:3 - Posted by: Dawn & Tim Plett (Friend, Pastor) on: Oct 31, 2014

  • Harold, you were a great man. It was a pleasure to work with you. Always had a joke to start the day off right. You will be deeply missed. - Posted by: Rita Gordon (Co-worker ) on: Oct 28, 2014

  • Harold, always had a special place in my life. As his Sunday School Teacher for a number of years, this will be unforgettable for me. I remember you as a kind, sensitive to other people's needs early in your life. We walked life's journey together till your Home going. I enjoyed writing out your Birthday cards, August 5 You left a vacancy in my life. Someday we will meet again, in Heaven. • Thank you Harold for the cherished memories from the Elim Baptist Church years. Sorry to your family for their loss. - Posted by: Sherri Corder (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2014

  • Harald was a light along my path through this life as he was no doubt for a great many others. He was cause for good all by himself, all the while maintaining a sense of humor and a sharp piercing wit. His passion was always the forgotten, the poor, the homeless, and his family. I will miss his flavor of the day injustice which he would cheerfully entice my opinion of. He endured hardship with humor and made friends more prolifically than the infamous mosquitos of Winnipeg could reproduce. The world will be darker without him in it. - Posted by: Peter Patrie (Friend, coworker, confidant ) on: Oct 25, 2014

  • I knew Harald only for a short period of time but he had a way of prompting me to re-examine as to what I was doing with my life and to improve upon that. His passing has left a gap in my life. I shall remember you always. - Posted by: Gordon MacGillivray (Friend) on: Oct 25, 2014
