AGNES PIRRIE AIKENS (nee KERR) Sadly on October 29, 2014 Agnes passed away at Fred Douglas Personal Care Home. Agnes was predeceased by her husband Wilbert, her parents William and Jean Kerr, her sisters and brothers; Barbara (Charles); Mary (Joseph); Robert (Dorothy); Hugh (Isobel); James (Elsie); Alexander; Henry (Audrey), (Ann). Left to cherish her memory are her sisters-in-law Viola May; Agnes Aikens; Jean Patterson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Agnes was born on April 24, 1915 in Lochwinnoch, Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1928 with her mother and some of her siblings. Her father had emigrated previously and settled on a farm in the Crandall area in Manitoba. She attended High school in Crandall then moved to Winnipeg with the Hamilton family. She was employed by CNR for many years. She resided in the Deer Lodge area and was an active member of Deer Lodge United church and the choir. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and knitting. Agnes and Wilbert hosted many Holiday Celebrations including family and friends with plenty of home cooking and homemade music. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre , 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery) with Reverend Paul Peters Derry D. Min of Fred Douglas Society officiating. The family extends sincere thanks to all the staff at Fred Douglas Society for their care over the past several years.   • So sorry to read of the passing of dear Agnes. My late husband and I bowled with Agnes for many years at the Polo Park lanes. She was such a cheerful person with a smile always on her face.
